Obituary

Mickey Lee Weiser, 66, of Hallettsville died January 21, 2021. He was born November 4, 1954 to Alton and Aubrette Jones Weiser in Pasadena, Texas. He married the love of his life, Patsy Sevcik, on April 5, 1975.

Mickey was a man of many talents.  He spent his life working in multiple industries as well as in public service.  While his careers gave him a lot to be proud of, Mickey was proudest being known as Dad, Pop and Pappy.  His children and grandchildren were the joys of his life and he loved spending time with them, sharing stories of days gone by, and offering guiding wisdom for their future.

Mickey was an outdoorsman and "man's man".  His most cherished time was spent grilling, hunting, fishing, and building - the things that he knew a man should teach his children and grandchildren.  He could be counted on to not only man the pit, but he also built the pit where he cooked hundreds of his well-known hearty meals.  There was always an open invitation for a plate of food and it could always be counted on to be the best meal you'd had in quite some time.  He loved a day out on the boat and would never turn down an opportunity to fish.  He most loved crappie fishing, but was at home in the outdoors regardless of what game he was pursuing.

Above all his hobbies though, nothing defined Mickey more than his loving character and generous spirit.  He was a devoted family man and devout in his beliefs. He had a generous heart, never met a stranger, was a friend to all, and was always willing to lend a helping hand.  It was his nature to love and teach and if you ever had a chance to speak with Mickey, you soon realized that he was a man with many stories and advice.  Whether displaying strategies at the 42 table, sharing details about his work experience, or simply telling stories of his favorite memories, his love for life and for his family always shone through.

Even to the end of his earthly life, Mickey never lost his ability to maintain and share his confidence and guiding spirit which came from his relationship with Jesus Christ.  His favorite scripture was Psalm 91 and he would speak and claim it over himself and others often. He loved deeply, enjoyed life to the fullest and he leaves behind a legacy of love that will be cherished by many for years to come.

Mickey is survived by:  wife Patsy;  three sons, Cody Stewart Lee Weiser & wife Tiffany of Spring Branch, Collin Lee Weiser & wife Kimberly of Huntsville, and Denver Lee Weiser & wife Samantha of Columbus;  6 grandchildren (and one on the way), Augustus Weiser, Olivia Weiser, Emmalin Weiser, Wyatt Rankin, Cross Rankin and Rowan Rankin;  sisters-in-law, Charlene Grones Zak & husband Allen of Victoria, Ailene Blaylock & husband Carlton of Conroe, Alice Hainline of Munfordville, Kentucky, and LaDonna Weiser of Splendora; and numerous nieces and nephews that were very near and dear to his heart.
