Michael Jay Kallina, 59, of Speaks Community in Lavaca County, Texas, passed away October 15, 2020.  He was born on April 15, 1961, in San Antonio, Texas, to James D. & Doris Horton Kallina.  He attended Alan Academy in Bryan and graduated from the Tenney School in Houston.

Michael spent many years enjoying life as an over-the-road truck driver until his health forced his retirement.  Following many surgical procedures in attempts to alleviate the pain caused by severe deterioration of his spine, his Doctors diagnosed him as 100% disabled.

Mike is survived by:   his mother Doris H. Kallina; brother Stephen; sister Teresa; sons, Steven & wife Felicia, Connor, Richmond, Shaun, Seth and Rhyli; and daughter Nevaeh.

Mike was preceded in death by; his beloved wife Melanie Shows Kallina, and his father James D. Kallina.

A private family gathering will be held following cremation.  Please no flowers.  Memorial donations sent to The Austin State Supported living Center, 2203 West 35th St., Austin TX 78703, or to a charity of your choice in remembrance of Mike will be gratefully appreciated by his family.
