Melvin Ray "Butch" Brinkmeyer, 76, of Houston, passed away Friday December 22, 2017. He was born on February 4, 1941 to Melvin and Ester Brinkmeyer in Needville, TX. He married Ruth Fuller of Sheridan on March 16, 1962 in Needville. Butch was a veteran of the United States Army and was proud of his assignment to the Honor Guard stationed at the Arlington National Cemetery. He was also very proud that his first assignment was to the inauguration of President John F. Kennedy.
Butch was a fun and loving man that touched many lives. He was loved by many people, family and friends. He never met a stranger and always enjoyed having a good time. He liked playing poker and making many trips to the casino with Ruth. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and anything outdoors. Butch also found joy in spending time with his family and truly enjoyed their happiness.
Butch is survived by: his wife Ruth; daughter Michelle Brinkmeyer of Houston; 2 grandsons Christopher Brinkmeyer of Beaumont and Brandon Brinkmeyer of Houston; and 2 great-granddaughters, Emily and Ashley Brinkmeyer.
Butch was preceded in death by: his parents Melvin and Ester Brinkmeyer; son Michael Wayne Brinkmeyer; 2 sisters and 2 brothers in law, Lois Miller & husband Lelon, and Melba Ralston & husband John.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Kubena Funeral Home. Visitation: 5 pm, Tuesday at Kubena Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Christopher Brinkmeyer, Brandon Brinkmeyer, Randy Miller, Russell Miller, Brent Ralston, David Fuller, Ernest Perry, and Bryan White. Honorary Pallbearers: Glen Tesch, Melvin Fuller, Devonte Perry, Donovan Perry, Brennan White, Trent White, Emily Brinkmeyer, and Ashley Brinkmeyer. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters. Memorials: Donor's Choice. Burial: Cheetham Cemetery, Sheridan, TX.
