Mrs. Melba Rae Hamilton, 86, of Hallettsville, died August 28, 2007. She was born July 27, 1921 to Oswald Buck & Ophelia Breeden Sokol in Hallettsville. She married Harry G. Hamilton on June 6, 1940 in Alice Texas.

Melba is survived by: son Harry Lee Hamilton of Dayton; 7 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

Melba was preceded in death by: husband Harry on Jan. 6, 1967; grandson Marcus Hamilton; parents; 2 brothers, W.E. "Ossie" and Ferd Sokol.

Memorial Service: 10 am, Friday, August 31, 2007 at First United Methodist Church of Hallettsville. Memorials (in lieu of flowers): First United Methodist Church.
