Obituary

Max Fred Henrichs, 73 of Moulton Texas was called to his heavenly home on March 21, 2017. He was born on Dec. 31, 1943 to the late Max J. Henrichs and Ruby Sebastian Henrichs in Hallettsville.

Max and Frances were married on Jan. 15, 1966. They were true soul mates and lived a life so full of love. Even during the many days in the hospital over the years, they were almost never apart. He would often say, "We are two peas in a pod."

Max graduated from Moulton High School with the class of 1962. He went on to work at Alcoa and held various jobs there for 22 years. When his boys were younger, he was a Boy Scout leader for many years. While enjoying spending time with his boys as a leader, he also was able to reach and teach other young men. Over the years, Max really enjoyed cooking and loved trying different recipes he saw in the paper or on the food channel he watched. Some of his favorite times were spent making sausage with his family.

Most days were spent working on the farm, riding his tractor, checking on his cows and making hay. But what brought him the most joy were his grandkids. There was a mutual teasing that occurred each time they saw each other. The grandkids loved to come in and steal candy from his "stash" or steal some of his chocolate chip cookies from the cookie jar. He was never too "full" to eat what the kids had made him from the "kitchen." His usual response was "Oh that's spicy, I need a drink." The kids always knew that he would have a joke of some sort for them and loved to hear what the new one was. He would often take the grandkids on his mule to put out corn for the deer and if they drove teased them not to drive in the ditch. Whether it was playing tic-tac-toe or being the "sweeper man" playing with the Lincoln logs, he always enjoyed his time with his grandkids. Max loved his grandkids so incredibly much and they loved him right back, even more.

Anyone who ever meet Max knows that he always had a smile on his face and a joke to tell. It's safe to say that he never meet a stranger in his life. He would often add to his goodbye by telling them "You know you're lucky today; you got to see me. Not everyone is that lucky." For those of us that have been blessed to have Max be apart our lives know we are indeed lucky. Max will be deeply missed by family and friends.
