Obituary

Mary Treptow, 92, of Hallettsville, passed away Jan. 7, 2011. She was born on Sept. 11, 1918 to Robert O. & Emma Brown Stockton in Lavaca County, Texas. She married Emil G. Treptow on May 11, 1940. She was a Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star; member of Bridgettes, served on the First United Methodist Church Council and other church committees, Alma Circle, Garden Club, Reading Club, and S.P.J.S.T.

Mary loved drinking cappuccinos with her long time friend, Hazel Timm. She loved all card games especially bridge and playing with her friends. She also enjoyed her Saturday Morning coffee group.

Mary is survived by: her husband Emil; 2 daughters, Judy Richards & husband Ronald of Angleton, and Beth Hamilton & husband J.R. of Carrizo Springs; 4 grandchildren, Mike Richards & wife Chris, Kim Dukes & Husband Brandonn, Crissy Hamilton, and Clayton Hamilton; and 6 great grandchildren, Michael Douglas, Michaela and Kayla Richards; Kellen, Katharine and KC Dukes.

Mary was preceded in death by: her parents; 2 brothers, one at infancy and Cecil Stockton; and 4 sisters, Lucille Linhart, Lizzie La Grone, Ethel Manning, and Mabel Tonn.

Mary's presence will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral Service: 2 pm, Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011 at First United Methodist Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: the family will be receiving visitors from 4 pm to 5 pm, Saturday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. Lundy Hooten. Pallbearers: Mike Richards, Clayton Hamilton, Brandonn Dukes, Allen Ray Timm, Michael Douglas Richards, Claude Barnes, and Terry Lee Stockton. Burial: Hallettsville City Cemetery. Memorials: First United Methodist Church or American Cancer Society.
