Mary loved flowers, especially roses and larkspur. She enjoyed working in the garden. She was an excellent cook, baking cookies, bread and those wonderful kolaches. She did her own sewing and made many beautiful quilts for the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to enjoy for many years.
Mary is survived by her children Margaret Kallus & husband Jerry of Hallettsville, Joyce Janak & husband Melvin of Katy, Mike Technik & wife Helen of Cypress, and Bob Technik & wife Debbie of League City. She is also survived by a brother, Tom Prasek of Moulton. Also surviving are five grandchildren; Becky Roessler of Waco, Diana Etzler of Richmond, Kelly Mathews of Katy, Brian Technik of Pearland, and Mark Technik of Cypress. Grand grandchildren include Ryan and Sarah Roessler, Lindsay and Haley Etzler, Sidney and Emily Mathews, and Jacob and Lauren Technik.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Alfred Technik on August 21, 2002; her parents Frank and Agnes Prasek; a sister Bernadette Konarik; and a brother Frankie Prasek.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Hallettsville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for their devoted care and to Hospice of South Texas nurses, aides and volunteers for their daily attention to her needs as well as Doctor Brian Reasoner and his staff for their care. Also, thanks to Father John Peters and Father Bryan Heyer for their visits and prayers, as well as the Hospice Chaplain for his visits and prayers.
Service: 10 am, Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Visitation: Noon, Tuesday at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosaries: 7pm, Tuesday at Kubena Funeral Home; and 9:30am, Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial: St. Mary's Cemetery. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Pallbearers: Steve Roessler, Leroy Etzler Jr., Joel Mathews, Brian Technik, Mark Technik, and Charles Prasek. Honorary Pallbearers: Great-Grandchildren and God Children. Memorials: St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Mary's Altar Society, or Hospice of South Texas.
