Mary R. Bujnoch, 88, of Yoakum, passed away Oct. 9, 2010. She was born on Dec. 21, 1921 to Guy & Thresia Sitka Greer. She married Rudolph "Rudy" J. Bujnoch on Oct. 14, 1941 at St. Mary's Catholic Church near Hallettsville. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of Americas, KJZT, and St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Mary attended school at Brown School. After marriage to Rudy, she took care of the home and worked in the fields helping her husband with the cotton and corn, and also worked at nights at Weingarten. With Rudy having many medical conditions, she worked very hard to help him support their family. After working at Weingarten's for over 20 years, she went to work at Tandy Brands where she worked for 43 years. She retired from Tandy Brands when she turned 85.

Mary was a spunky feisty little old woman. She was loved by so many. She was contagious with that smile. She could talk to anyone about anything. She loved her children and grandchildren. She would always be so excited when she got a call or card from one of them, sharing there news with her other family members.

It is said the Greer women are strong women and Mary fit the case. She dealt with many hardships in her lifetime but never did they keep her down and she never made excuses for them. Things happened; she dealt with the problem and moved on. Never looking back because tomorrow was a new day and something good would come of that day.

Mary loved her flowers, garden and embroidery work. So many of the family members have been blessed with receiving a pair of beautifully embroidered pillowcases or cup towels. This she did with love and pride.

We were all so blessed to have been a part of Mary's life.

Mary is survived by: daughter Thresia Davis of Yoakum; son Robert J. Bujnoch of Bay City; brother Johnny Greer of Hallettsville; sister Evelyn Spann of Victoria; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by: her husband; parents; 3 brothers, one at infancy, Herbert and Raymond "Rusty" Greer; and 5 sisters, one at infancy, Josephine Vana, Lenora Morisak, Annie Svoboda and Helen Schulte.

Funeral Mass Service: 3 pm, Monday, Oct. 11, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Visitation: 5 pm, Sunday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7 pm, Sunday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Pallbearers: David Morisak, Gilbert Morisak, Jeremy Shedd, Michael Appelt, Patrick Bujnoch, John Bujnoch, Cody Davis, and Donnie Leopold . Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Burial: St. Ludmila Catholic Cemetery near Wied Community.
