IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Jane
Janak
June 24, 1916 – August 12, 2006
Mary, as a young girl, cooked along with her Mother to feed the large group of workers that were employed at their family business, The Worthing Gin and Store. She became a wonderful cook and accomplished baker. Throughout her life her family and guests to her home were treated to many delicious meals. Fresh-baked cookies always awaited her grandchildren when they visited and no family gathering was complete without her famous "poppyseed rolls".
Mary was married to her sweetheart, Paul P. Janak on November 3, 1939 at St. Mary's Church. She and Pual were blessed with seven children. Paul and Mary farmed for one year, after which they opened a small grocery store and began to make sausage. From that humble beginning, Janak Packing, Inc. grew and is still owned and operated by the Janak family.
