Mary Alice Hodges, 88, of Hallettsville, died April 21, 2009. She was born on January 11, 1921 to Hugh B. & Allida Garner Parr near Williamsburg Community in Lavaca County. She married Newell C. Hodges on June 18, 1938 in San Antonio. She was a member of Mossy Grove United Methodist Church.

Mary is survived by: 2 sons, Gary Hodges & wife Joyce, and Rev. Kenneth Hodges & wife Sherry; daughter Maryln Patterson, all of Hallettsville; 5 grandchildren, Robert Hodges, David Hodges, Randy Hodges, Tanya Ingram, and Amanda Cervantes; 5 step grandchildren, Laurie, Scott, Stephen, Pam, and David; and 10 great grandchildren, Taylor, Melody, Colton, Justin, Cecil, Jessica, Logan, Austin, Haleigh, and Victoria.

Mary was preceded in death by; husband Newell; infant daughter; parents; and 2 brothers, Lynton B. and William "Royce" Parr.

Service: 2 pm, Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Mossy Grove United Methodist Church. Visitation: 3 pm, Friday, at Kubena Funeral Home; with the family receiving visitors from 6 pm to 8 pm. Officiate: Rev. Lundy Hooten. Pallbearers: Ronald Hodges, James Hodges, Dennis Hodges, Darrell Parr, David Hodges, Dennis Matula, Joe Ingram, Robbie Hodges, and Randy Hodges. Burial: Salem Cemetery. Memorials: Mossy Grove United Methodist Church or Cemetery Association, Salem Cemetery Association or Donor's Choice.
