Obituary

Mary Botard, better known as Pat to everyone, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the age of 96, in Lexington, Texas.  She was surrounded by her family.  She was born on February 16, 1929, in Waelder, Texas, to William Allie & Maggie Jane Sherry.  She was married to Charles Tracy from July 16, 1948, until his death on May 20, 1990.  They had three children, Sharon, Sandra and Randy.  They lived in Sinton, Blessing, Big Wells, and then moved to Sheridan, all in Texas.  They retired in Sheridan.

Pat was a housewife who took care of her kids, house, and yard.  She always loved flowers and had beautiful yards wherever they lived.  She also loved planting a vegetable garden—always something good to eat from those gardens.  She loved cooking large meals with delicious desserts for family on all the holidays.  No matter when anyone visited, she always wanted to feed them.  Her go-to drink was Dr Pepper; she had to have at least one a day...usually more.

Pat married Ottie Botard on September 25, 1994, in Sheridan.  She helped him with his big garden and also helped with the cows, which was dangerous at times at their age.  They told us they were pinned against the fence a few times, but they enjoyed it.  They moved from Sheridan in 2007 to Lexington, Texas.  They gave up their cows and enjoyed gardening, going to church, growing more flowers in a pretty yard, and also helping son, Randy, and wife, Taye, and grandson, Brian, on their ranch.

Pat is survived by:  daughters, Sharon Dobiyanski & husband Don and Sandra Lentz & husband David; son Randy Tracy & wife Taye; brother James Allen Sherry; grandchildren, Greg Dobiyanski, Kristi Williams & husband Tony, Traci Welch & husband Blake, Jeff Johnson & wife Lori, Kim Johnson, Carrie Martinez & husband Rudy and Brian Tracy & wife Laramee; great grandchildren, Nikki Robinson & husband Blake, Dilan Martinez, Jonathan Martinez, Brandon Martinez, Kaylee Dobiyanski, Kyndsey Dobiyanski, Kasen Williams, Emerson Tracy and Avery Tracy; great great grandchildren, Holden, Willow and Beau; and too many nieces and nephews to name.

Pat was preceded in death by:  her parents; first husband Charles Tracy; second husband Ottie Botard; sisters, Neomia Sherry Hearne & husband Johnny, Nell Wilkinson & husband Ted and Emma Mae Sherry Kirchman & husband Elmo; brothers, Horace Sherry, Jearldean Sherry & wife Ruth and Morris Sherry & wife Virginia; and great grandson Buddy Johnson.
