Obituary

Mary Lou Barnes Ayraud, 87, of Hallettsville, passed away June 25, 2019. She was born to Ross & Pearl Haseman Barnes in Euclid, New York on Feb. 8, 1932. She joined the US Air Force on July 30, 1951. She was an Airman 2 nd Class of the Aerial Flight Squadron out of Scott Army Air Field in Illinois until her honorable discharge on Dec. 18, 1953.

Mary lived in Houston were she enjoyed working 50 years in the mortgage industry, and retired to Hallettsville with her husband of 51 years. She enjoyed volunteering as a Pink Lady at Lavaca Medical Center Women's Auxiliary, and an active member of the American Legion Post 230.

Mary is survived by: her daughter Paula King of Hallettsville; 2 grandchildren, Angela King of Hallettsville, and Andrew King & wife Tricia of Ezzell; 5 great grandchildren, Matthew Tankersley of Troy, Ohio, Ryan Flatt of Whitesboro, TX, Megan Alexander of Katy, TX, Austin King of Tomball, and Edward Alexander of Hallettsville; and one great great grandchild. Extended family members include; 3 granddaughters and 2 great grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by, her husband Ed Ayraud and son Paul Money.

Because of her love and admiration for the US Veteran, a Memorial Service honoring her life will be held on November 9, 11 am, at the American Legion Post #230 in Hallettsville.

Her family loves and misses her more than words can say.
