Obituary

Marilyn McGehearty Hrncir, 84 of Schulenburg, Texas, passed away on November 11, 2007 Marilyn was born September 23, 1923 in Fort Worth Texas. Marilyn's happy, and demure demeanor easily obscured her inner strengths of determination, perseverance and responsibility that enabled her to raise six children and to have a positive influence on everyone she met.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her daughter Marilyn Anne and her brother Jerome McGehearty. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, C.L. "Chuck" Hrncir, husband, her children Charlotte Hrncir, Washington, D.C.; Kathleen Hrncir, Austin, TX; Charlie Hrncir, College Station, TX; Peggy Hrncir Minnich, Fredericksburg, VA; and Sharon Hrncir Kennedy, Houston, TX; sons-in law Glenn Minnich and Johnny Kennedy, daughter in-law Karen Mollenkopf Hrncir. Marilyn's grand children, include Michelle and Shannon Minnich, Chase, Kaleb and Jacob Hrncir, Katie Mae and Sean Kennedy.

Marilyn was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader. She was a Charter Member of the Czech Heritage Society, and received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Czech Heritage Society for her genealogy work on Czechs in Texas. Marilyn wrote three books on Czechs in Texas.

Marilyn was a Lady Grand Cross of the Equestrian Order of the Knights and Ladies of the Holy Sepulchre, an active participant in ten church choirs during her life, and founding member of St Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church in South Austin.

Marilyn's life will be celebrated with a Rosary at Kubena Funeral Home in Hallettsville, Texas on November 13, 2007 at 7:00 p.m.; with visitation starting at 2:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Moravia Texas on November 14, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Pallbearers include Anthony Hrncir, J.G. Hrncir, John Hrncir, Pat Hrncir, Pat Pagel, John Hrncir, and Jonathan Pesek.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Czech Heritage Society of Texas or The Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Moravia, Texas.
