Margie Ann Boethel Opela, of Hallettsville, was born May 3, 1944.  She peacefully passed away and was called to heaven by our Lord November 19, 2025, at the age of 81.  She married Joseph L Opela on November 6, 1971.

Margie loved her family, enjoyed planting but most of all loved being a Granny to her grandchildren.  She also spent her entire career banking in Hallettsville and later retired after serving the community for 44 years.

Margie was preceded in death by, her parents Zilfa Therese Melnar Boethel & Oscar Earnst Boethel and brother Billy Boethel.

Margie is survived by:  her husband Joseph Lewis Opela of Hallettsville; her two sons, Justin Opela of Hallettsville and Kelly (Angela) Opela of East Bernard; her 3 grandchildren, Addison Jean Opela, Alyssa Ann Opela and Kade Joseph Opela, all of East Bernard; sister Patsy Boethel Sims and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service: 11 am, Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Kubena Funeral Home of Hallettsville; with Visitation starting at 10 am. Officiant: Rev. Dominic Antwi-Boasiako. Memorials: Donor's choice. Burial: St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Koerth Texas.
