Our beloved mother, Margaret Smirak, age 90, of Hallettsville, Texas, passed away August 9, 2015. She was born September 27, 1924 in Old Sweet Home, Texas, to Henry and Agnes Janak Schneider. She married August Smirak on Nov. 12, 1946 in Sweet Home. She enjoyed living on the farm and the frequent visits from her family. Those that embraced her presence knew of her inner strength, unconditional love and strong catholic faith.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by, son Dennis Smirak, brother Josesph (Tex) Schneider, sister Mildred Schneider, and step-mother Mary Marek Schneider.

She is survived by her children Mildred Dworsky, Helen Netardus and husband David, August Smirak Jr. and wife Terri; daughter-in-law Debra Smirak Technik; brother Henry Schneider and wife Alice, sisters Agnes Wilson, Dorothy Boehm and Bernice Bujnoch.

She has 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral Mass Service: 10 am, Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church of Sweet Home, TX. Visitation: 4 pm, Tuesday, at Kubena Funeral Home with Rosary starting at7 pm. Pallbearers (Grandsons): Darryl Dworsky, Wesley Smirak, Chad Smirak and grandson-in-laws Brandon Blaker, Michael Dural and Kyle Meismer. Officiant: Rev. Charles Sonnier. Memorials: Donor's choice. Burial: Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery, Sweet Home, TX.
