Margaret was born in Schulenburg and later moved to Engle, where her and her sister Rose had walked to school. She also worked on the family farm picking cotton and cutting corn tops. She and her sister always looked forward to break time when their dad would bring them a Pepsi or a banana. She was always excited to get a new dress her mom would make out of feed sacks. There was always work to be done and Margaret was a hard worker.
Then around age 20, Margaret went to work at Frank's Restaurant in Schulenburg. While working at Frank's, she met her future husband, Blase Konvicka Sr. They were married Sept. 24, 1955 in Praha, TX, with a reception held at Blase's open air pavilion. The couple had 5 children, Blase Jr., James, Michael, Beverly Ann and Mary Ann.
All during their married life, they worked side by side building their business, Blase's Place, which also included a dance hall. Margaret enjoyed working with the public and socializing with all her customers. But her true joy was baking and cooking for her family & friends. She also enjoyed playing Bingo whenever she could and watching her favorite gameshow "Wheel of Fortune". She was a member of KJZT, St. Isidore Society, St. Mary's Altar Society, St. Mary's Rosary Society, and St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Margaret is survived by: 2 sons, Blase Konvicka Jr. & wife Deberah, and Michael Konvicka; daughter-in law Carol Konvicka; Sandra Konvicka (mother of Michael's Children); 10 grandchildren, Krystle Roberts & husband Ian, Jessica Nelson & husband Dave, Kandis Konvicka, Blase Konvicka III, Erik Konvicka & wife Amber, Dillon Konvicka & wife Sara, Mikayla Konvicka, John Konvicka, Derek Konvicka and Kevin Konvicka; 8 great grandchildren, Aidan & Elodie Roberts, Eva & Drew Nelson; Anna, Joseph, Jacob & Dawson Konvicka; and sister Rose Janak & husband Alois
