IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret Ann
Timm
September 23, 1941 – November 3, 2015
Margaret Ann Timm, 74 of Hallettsville, passed away November 3, 2015, after a suffering a severe stroke seven years prior. She was born on September 23, 1941, in the Ezzell community. She graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Hallettsville in 1959. She married Forrest W. Timm, Jr. on January 22, 1961, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Koerth.
Margaret's first job after high school was at Timm's Food Mart which is where she met the love of her life Forrest Wayne. As Margaret once said, "I lived in an apartment across the street from the store. He (Wayne) was always coming over to bring me something. I soon fixed him supper and we got engaged and married within the next year." It was only one year later that Wayne was drafted into the army and was gone for two years. There wasn't a day that went by that letters weren't exchanged between the two of them.
In Margaret's later years she worked at Texaco in the deli where they served breakfast tacos, sandwiches and hamburgers & lastly at Hoffer's Drive-in Grocery before entering retirement. Margaret thoroughly enjoyed working in public & seeing the many familiar faces that passed through each day.
One of Margaret's greatest pleasures was cooking for family and friends. It was something she could do all day long without tiring, she especially looked forward to holidays and special occasions. Margaret was probably the absolute best cook there was & was constantly looking through cookbooks and willing to trying something new.
Spending time with family and friends was something that was very important to Margaret. Whether it was simply making a phone call and inviting someone over for a cup of coffee and something freshly baked or celebrating down at the Ezzell home place with family, Margaret treasured these times.
Another of Margaret's great pleasures was spending time out at "the farm" out at St. Mary's. She not only looked forward to a quick trip with Wayne to check on the cows in the afternoon after work but even more so to spend the entire weekend out there. Wherever Wayne was, Margaret was sure to be right behind helping in any way she could. It was the simple things in life, such as these, that meant so much to Margaret.
