Obituary

Marcus B. Havel, 74, of Houston, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, May 26, 2019. He was born on November 4, 1944 to Louis J. & Anita Haas Havel in Shiner, TX, and the 5 th of 6 sons. He attended Sweet Home School & Yoakum High School. After high school he joined the Army National Guard, and obtained the rank of SP-5, with his training as a cook. He went to work at TexTan in Yoakum, and in 1966 he went to work in Houston at Cameron Iron Works, Inc./Cooper Industries/Wyman-Gordon/PCP industries for 48 years until retirement.

Marcus met Patricia Huepers on February 19, 1966, the love of his life, and they were married on August 19, 1967, and were married for 51 years, 9 months. Together they raised 3 wonderful children, Rhonda Kay, Christopher Mark and Sharyn Renee.

Marcus enjoyed cooking, woodwork, vacation trips with his wife, and spending a lot of time on his weekend place in Sweet Home with his 2 puppies, family & friends.

Marcus is survived by: his wife Pat; 3 children, Rhonda Esterak & husband Jay of Cypress, Chris Havel & wife Sharlene of Sealy, and Sharyn Ramsey & husband Matt of Cypress; 7 grandchildren (the pride and joy of his life), Emaleigh Esterak, Maddison Esterak, Hunter Havel, Hayden Havel, Hayley Havel, Kailey Ramsey and Brady Ramsey; 2 traveling companions, his dogs Ruby & Penny; sisters-in-law, Annie Mae Havel of Houston and Anna Havel of Hallettsville; brother-in-law Thomas Huepers of Weimar; sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law, Joyce & Mark Fishbeck, and Debbie & Dan Marburger; Godchild Craig Fishbeck; and several nieces & nephews

Marcus was preceded in death by: his parents; grandparents; 5 brothers, Louis A., Anton, Joseph, Charles and Johnny Havel; and sister-in-law Ginny Havel.

Funeral Mass Service : 10 am, Thursday, May 30, 2019, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church of Sweet Home. Visitation: 5 pm, Wednesday at Kubena Funeral Home; with the Rosary starting at 7:30 pm. Pallbearers: Charles Havel Jr., Joseph Havel, Johnny Havel, Craig Fishbeck, Roy Drabek, Garrett Drabek, Kyle Towns and Bobby Havel. Honorary Pallbearers: Emaleigh Esterak, Maddison Esterak, Hunter Havel, Hayden Havel, Hayley Havel, Kailey Ramsey, Brady Ramsey, Lawrence Henke and Victor Welfl. Officiant: Rev. Timothy Kosler. Memorials: American Cancer Society or donor's choice. Burial: Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery.
