Lucy Hrcek Vana, 98, of Shiner, passed away March 31, 2015. She was born on November 28, 1916 to Frank & Agnes Steffek Hrcek in Breslau Community in Lavaca County, TX. She married Vaclav Vana in 1936, in Moravia, TX. She was a member of the K.J.Z.T. and Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church of Shiner.

Lucy is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Lucy is preceded in death by: her husband Vaclav; parents; 3 brothers, Frank, Julius, and Charles Hrcek; and sister Albina Novak.

Funeral Mass Service: 10 am, Monday, April 6, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Hallettsville; with Rosary starting at 9:30 am. Visitation: 5 pm, Sunday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiant: Rev Kirby Hlavaty. Pallbearers: Gene Gillan, Elroy Holik, Hubert Novak, Tomy Janak, Jimmy Hrcek, and Dwayne Holik. Memorials: Donor's Choice. Burial: St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
