Mrs. Lucille Marie Gerdes, 91, of Hallettsville, died March 14, 2007. She was born on August 2, 1915 to Lutzie & Myrtle Phelps Hemmi in Hallettsville, Texas. She married G. H. "Gibby" Gerdes on June 11, 1935 in Hallettsville, Texas. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Hallettsville.

Lucille is survived by: son G.H. "Gibbo" Gerdes Jr. of Lulling, Texas; daughter Judy Evans & husband James of Hallettsville; sister Marionell Smothers of Hallettsville; 6-grandchildren, Cyndy Ellis, Carol King, Jim Evans, John Evans, Jeff Evans, and Wesley Evans; 11-Great-Grandchildren; and 1-Great-Great-Grandchild.

Lucille was preceded in death by: Husband G.H. "Gibby" Gerdes on January 7, 1997; Parents; brother Carl Hemmi; & sister Majorie Fietsam.

Service: 10am, Saturday, March 17, 2007 at Sacred Heart Church. Officiate: Rev John Peters. Visitation: 5pm, Friday, March 16, 2007 at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7pm, Friday, March 16, 2007 at Kubena Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Jim Evans, John Evans, Jeff Evans, Wesley Evans, Arin Ellis, and Jimmy Fietsam. Burial: Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorials: Hospice of South Texas or Donor's Choice.
