IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Louise Mae
Tesch
October 1, 1926 – May 21, 2014
Louise Mae Tesch, 87, of Hallettsville, passed away May 21, 2014. She was born on Oct. 1, 1926 to J.P. & Aloisa (Lizzie) Zapalac in Oakland Community in Lavaca County, TX. She married Elroy A. Tesch on Nov. 29, 1952 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hallettsville. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville.
Louise was a devoted Catholic. Her faith kept her going raising six kids. She was an excellent cook who made the best pecan pie, Christmas Rock cookies, jalapenos and pickles. She never ever turned anyone away and always set another place at the table for them. Great seamstress, loved needlecrafts and loved crafts of all kinds. She was a strong, hard-working woman. She worked as a cook and sheet metal worker through her last years before retiring.
Louise was a tough lady but she had a good heart. She was loud and when she had something to say, you knew it. Nothing made her smile more than a baby or a child. She taught all the kids, grandkids, and great grandkids to say their prayers. She impressed upon all them to get a good education and do their best.
Louise said to her grandchildren and great grandchildren to the very end "I love you little, I love you big, I love you like a little candy pig."
Louise liked to play dominoes and 42. She loved to Bingo. She loved her home place in Hallettsville where she was raised and where she came to retire 29 years ago.
Louise will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.
Louise is survived by: her husband Elroy Tesch Sr.; 4 sons, Elroy Tesch Jr. & wife Sonja of Lafayette, La, Michael Tesch & wife Elaine of Willis, TX, Richard Tesch & wife Paula of Katy, TX, and Robert Tesch & wife Robin of Pearland, TX; 2 daughters, Katherine Hays of Hallettsville, and Cecilia Overstreet & husband James of Tomball, TX; 2 sisters, Georgia Schaefer of Hallettsville, and Albina Hughes of Pflugerville; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
