Obituary

Louise Isabel Smith Adams, 79, of Hallettsville, passed away Wednesday May 1, 2013 at her home after a long battle with emphysema. Louise was born November 6, 1933 in Elyria, Ohio, to Louis Jerome Smith and Alice Mary Elems Smith. She grew up on a farm in Elyria with her parents and brother Raymond Louis. She loved school, loved to read and was the valedictorian of her graduating class. She played a banjo, and was in a barbershop quartet. Louise and her family moved to Houston Texas in 1954 where she met and married her husband Donald Adams.

Louise loved to read, loved working the daily crossword puzzle, and would complete her crossword puzzles in ink. She also loved getting on the computer to read Facebook and play solitaire and canasta. She also loved camping at the beach with Donald. All of the grandkids loved her sugar cookies, she would make and have them fresh out of the oven as they came off the school bus. Even to the end, she did not complain about her illness, failing health or pain.

Louise is survived by her husband Donald Sr., her children Margie, Jackie, Donald Jr., Robbi, Raymond, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, and one great grandchild on the way.

Memorial Service will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, May 11th, at Kubena Funeral Home, with visitation starting at 10 am. Msgr. John Peters will be officiating.
