Obituary

Louis "LJ" Prasek, 86, of Hallettsville, died July 12, 2006. He was born on February 25, 1920 to John R. & Albina Klekar Prasek in Lavaca County, Texas. He married Jane Recek Prasek on November 4, 1946 in the St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Louis was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville, V.F.W., American Legion, Commander and Chief of D.A.V., and a Veteran of WWII. During WWII he reached the rank of Technician Fifth Grade as a Medical Technician in the 56th Evacuation Hospital.

Louis is survived by: 3-sons, Ronnie Prasek of Houston, Gary Prasek & wife Eileen of Hallettsville, and Michael Prasek & wife Kathy of Hallettsville; 2-daughters, Mildred Callas & husband Michael of Sealy, and Lorene Smith of Hallettsville; and 10 grandchildren.

Louis was preceded in death by: wife Jane (October 12, 1993); parents John R. & Albina Klekar Prasek; daughter Mary Prasek; grandson Chris Prasek; 3-brothers, Johnnie, James, and Willie Prasek; and 7-sisters, Mary Ann Prasek, Annie Kupka, Pauline Koerth, Frances Kupka, Agnes Ulcak, Millie Settle, and Albina Gray.

Service: 10am, Saturday, July 15, 2006 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville. Visitation: Noon, Friday at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosaries: 7pm, Friday at Kubena Funeral Home, and 9:30am, Saturday at Sacred Heart Church. Burial: St. Mary's Cemetery. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Pallbearers: Brandon Prasek, Kyle Prasek, Aaron Prasek, Sean Smith, Chris Rainosek, and Clay Gray. Memorials: St. Mary's Cemetery Fund, Stevens Convalescent Center, Hospice of South Texas, or Donor's Choice.
