Louis James Drexler, 90, of Moulton, passed away May 24, 2011. He was born on May 22, 1921 to John Anton & Agnes Recek Drexler in Lavaca County, Texas, near St. Mary's Community. He was married to Rosie Christen for 67 years. Louis was a farmer and rancher, retired employee of Kaspar Wire Works, and served 30 years as a Reserve Officer for the Lavaca County Sheriff's Department.

Louis is survived by: his wife Rosie; 3 daughters, Shirley Moczygemba of Yorktown, Mildred Cowan of Gonzales, and Rose Chandler of Luling; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

Louis was preceded in death by: his parents; 2 sons, Leon J. Drexler and Louis J. Drexler Jr.; and 2 grandsons.

Funeral Mass Service: 10 am, Friday, May 27, 2011, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 4 pm, Thursday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7 pm, Thursday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Pallbearers (his grandchildren): John Drexler, James Drexler, Jerry Drexler, Jackie Kyle, Susan Moczygemba, Bridget Ledwig, Brian Baker, and Diane Pekar. Burial: St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Hallettsville.
