Lorraine Capak, 94, of Hallettsville, passed away August 8, 2018. She was born on November 1, 1923 to Louis A. & Frances Kahanek Kubecka in Hallettsville. She married Peter T. Capak on October 30, 1945 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. She was a member of the American Legion & VFW Auxiliaries, KJZT, Catholic Daughters of Americas, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville.
Pete and Lorraine raised their family on a farm/ranch in the Breslau area. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, sewing, quilting, baking kolaches, and spending time with her family. The family will always remember her delicious kolaches.
Lorraine is survived by: 3 daughters, Margaret Herchek of Yoakum, Virginia Ruschhaupt of Cuero, and Claudia Williams & husband Don of Hallettsville; brother Lee Roy Kubecka of Hallettsville; sister Evelyn Ingram of Moulton; 3 grandchildren, Billie Joe "Joey" Henyan Jr. of Lewisville, Travis Gundelach & wife Cassie of Victoria, and Kimberly Barcak & husband Randy of Hallettsville; 5 great grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren; 8 step great grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews.
Lorraine was preceded in death by: her husband Pete; parents; 3 brothers, George, Louis and Henry Kubecka; and sister Irene Cook.
Funeral Mass Service: 10 am, Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 5 pm, Friday at Kubena Funeral Home; with Rosary starting at 7 pm. Pallbearers: Michael Ruschhaupt, Joey Henyan, Randy Barcak, Bailee Williams, Travis Gundelach, and Julio Triveno. Officiant: Rev. Max Landman. Memorials: Hospice of South Texas or Charity of your choice. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
