Lloyd Lee Smith , 87, of Hallettsville, passed away June 16, 2017. He was born May 8, 1930, in Matagorda County, Texas to Ben and Mary Klimitchek Smith. He married Billie Ponton Smith, on April 8, 1990 in Hallettsville, Texas. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Lloyd enjoyed hunting, catfishing, dominoes, and tending cattle. He was dedicated to his extensive family, friends and neighbors and always there with a helping hand.

Lloyd is survived by his wife Billie; daughter Clara and husband Chet Havenstrite of Austin; 2 sons Danny and wife Sharon Smith of Austin and David Smith of Austin; Step son Joel (Bo) and wife Nancy Ponton of Ezzell; and sister Mary Luella Woods of Georgetown; 6 Grandsons and 8 Great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, First Wife Bessie Kutach Smith; half-brothers Ollie and Walter; 8 brothers Louis, Harvey, Albert, Benny, Ernest, Millard, Orville, and Travis; brother in law Tom Woods.

Funeral Mass Service: 2 pm, Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at Kubena Funeral Home of Hallettsville. Visitation: 4 pm, Tuesday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters. Pallbearers: Stephen Smith, Dustin Smith, Matt Mullins, Josh Mullins, Casey Ponton, and Austin Ponton. Honorary Pallbearers: Kelley Ponton. Memorials (in lieu of flowers): Hospice of South Texas, Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Donor's Choice. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
