Schroeder Fishbeck
December 4, 1913 – April 28, 2010
In the 1940's, Linda and her sister, Nolie, moved to Houston where she worked at St. Joseph's Hospital. There she met Victor Fishbeck at an area dance. After Victor was discharged from the service, they married on March 9, 1946 and settled in Hallettsville.
Linda was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed sewing for her daughters. Playing dominoes and bingo were her favorite activities. Linda was an active member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and received her 50 year service pin in 2009.
In 1999, Linda was diagnosed with Parkinson Disease. She lived in her home in Hallettsville until 2004 when she moved to the Missouri City /Richmond area. She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Pittman and husband, Larry; Carol Young and husband, David; and Linda Bishkin and husband, Neil; 4 grandchildren, Amy Newsom and husband, Chad; Brian Pittman and wife, Stacie; Amanda Young, and Andrew Bishkin; and 3 great-granddaughters, Bailie Pittman, Avery and Ryann Belle Newsom.
Linda is preceded in death by her husband, Victor; her parents; 3 brothers, Larry, Paul, and Leslie Schroeder, and sister, Nolie Wright.
Funeral Mass Service: 2:30 pm, Sunday, May 2, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 3 pm, Saturday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7 pm, Saturday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers: Brian Pittman, Chad Newsom, Andrew Bishkin, David Fishbeck, Dale Williams and Douglas Hermes. Honorary Pallbearers: O.R. Hermes and Leroy Schroeder.
