Obituary

Lillie Kolacny passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014, at the age of 89. She was born in Lavaca County to the late Theo and Carrie Mozisek Kalmus on September 21, 1924.

Lillie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the KJZT Society.

Lillie married Joe B. Kolacny at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at Koerth on September 21, 1946. They were married for 66 years until his death on June 26, 2013.  Lillie was a homemaker and also retired from Stevens Nursing Center.

Lillie loved her flower beds filled with red roses and her vegetable garden. She spent many hours canning her bounty, making delicious kolaches, homemade noodles, and sugar cookies, along with the numerous food choices that the family requested. Mom's favorite outing was enjoying a meal at Golden Corral. She will be always be remembered for her beautiful smile.

Lillie treasured the many days spent with her family and left behind many fond memories for her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family.

Lillie is survived by three children, Earlene Pilat and husband Robert of Moulton, Ervin Kolacny and wife Carolyn, and David Kolacny and wife Michele both of Hallettsville. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Donna Brazda (Jody) of Wallis, Dale Kolacny (Connie) of Hallettsville, Devin Kolacny (Karen) of Sheridan, Kevin Pilat (Angie), Ryan Pilat (Roxanne), and Alan Pilat (Beth) all of Moulton, Angela Richter(Bryan) of Flatonia, Drayton Kolacny and Mclane Kolacny both of Hallettsville. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren. Brothers, Victor Kalmus and Joe Kalmus both of Victoria, Julius Kalmus of Hallettsville, and sisters Caroline Grahmann of Hallettsville and Lorene Barton of Yoakum.

Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe B. Kolacny, granddaughter Delaine Kolacny, and brother Louis Kalmus.

Visitation: 4 pm, Saturday, at Kubena Funeral Home with Rosary starting at 7 pm. Funeral Mass Service: 3 pm Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hallettsville. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters. Pallbearers (her grandchildren): Donna Kolacny Brazda, Angela Pilat Richter, Devin Kolacny, Alan Pilat, Drayton Kolacny, and Mclane Kolacny. Burial: St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Memorials : Donor's Choice.
