August 25, 1919 – June 5, 2010
Lester served in the US Army during World War II, attached to Company A, 612th Tank Destroyer Battalion. He received the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 5 bronze service stars for, Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe campaigns; the American Theater Campaign Medal; the Good Conduct Medal; World War II Victory Medal; and Distinguished Unit Badge.
Lester is survived by: his wife Leona; step children, Nancy Dworsky & husband Ben of Hallettsville, Ronnie Holubec & wife Debie of Sugarland, Margaret Chudej & husband Aaron of Moulton, Michael Tobola of Hallettsville, and Patrick Tobola of Austin; and numerous step grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Lester was preceded in death by; his first wife Justine Kanak Tobola Ziegler, and his parents.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at St. Peter Lutheran Church. Visitation: 5 pm, Monday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. Dr. Alan Williams. Pallbearers: Glen Janca, Pete Nicholson, Jimmy Garner, Larry Kallus, Henry Kallus Jr., and Clay Zavesky. Honorary Pallbearers: James Garner, Robert Nicholson, and step grandchildren & great grandchildren. Burial: Hallettsville City Cemetery. Memorials: St. Peter Fellowship Hall Fund.
