Obituary

Mr. Leonard L. Dominic, 83, of Hallettsville, died Oct. 29, 2007. He was born April 1, 1924 to John & Lucy DiGiacomo Dominic in Krebs, OK. He was a long time Houston resident until his retirement from Continental Oil Company. He married Marion McLendon Dominic on Aug. 4, 1984 in Houston. Leonard was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville, Honorary Life member of the Knights of Columbus, and Veteran of WWII. During WWII, he was with the US Army Air Force in the 20th Air Force Bomber Command with the rank of Staff Sgt. He received the American Theater Ribbon; WWII Victory Medal: Good Conduct Medal; and the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with 5 bronze campaign stars for Central Burma, Air Offensive on Japan, India-Burma, China Defensive, and China Offensive campaigns.

Leonard is survived by: wife Marion Lanier Dominic; son Vincent Dominic & wife Kimberly of Houston; step-son Greg Lanier & wife Patty of Hallettsville; 3 daughters, Shirley Jones & husband John of San Antonio, Mary Gibbens & husband Rex of Houston, and Lucy Clay & husband Rush of Katy; 2 brothers, Robert Dominic & wife Wilma of Seguin, and Virgil Dominic & wife Shaun of Medina, OH; 9 grandchildren, Randy Lanier, Victoria Dominic, Vincent Dominic, Jessica Jones, Katie Jones, Amanda Gibbens, Natalie Gibbens, Dominic Clay, and Billie Ann Clay.

Leonard was preceded in death by 1st wife Wanda Shirley Dominic, and parents.

Service: 2 pm, Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation: 12 noon, Wednesday at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7pm Wednesday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. John Peters and Rev. Terry Horton. Pallbearers: Michael Dominic, Shawn Deshotel, Virgil Massaro, Stan Brown, Patrick Dominic, Dennis Dominic, Paul Dominic, and Don Moon. Burial: Willow Creek Cemetery. Memorials (in Lieu of flowers): Rev John Peters Seminary Burse, First Baptist Youth Center, or favorite charity.
