Leona Holubec Ziegler, 87, of Hallettsville, passed away June 25, 2016. She was born on June 18, 1929 to John C. & Julie Kutach Mican in Hallettsville. She married Julius E. Holubec on May 2, 1950, (he died March 13, 1986); she married Robert L. Ziegler on July 24, 1992, (he died June 5, 2010). She was a member of KJZT, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville.

Leona is survived by: son Ronnie Holubec of Sugarland; daughter Nancy Dworsky & husband Ben of Hallettsville; step-son Pat Tobola; sister Alice Brown of Hallettsville; 7 grandchildren, Joseph Bludau (Tammy), Ryan Bludau (Kelly), Jason Bludau (Kristie), Jessica Bludau Lewis (Garrick), Kenny Holubec (Mica), Shelly Holubec Bergeron (Brad), and Kevin Dworsky (Nicole); and 16 great grandchildren.

Leona was preceded in death by: her 2 husbands, Julius Holubec and Robert Ziegler; parents; daughter-in-law Debbie Holubec; sister-in-law Johnnie Randow; 5 brothers, Leon, Adolph, Frank, Willie and Victor Mican; and 4 sisters, Rosie Butler, Helen Cervenka, Mary Pustejovsky, and Hedwig Spanihel.

Funeral Mass Service: 10 am, Thursday, June 30, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation: 5 pm, Wednesday with Rosary starting at7 pm at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters. Pallbearers: Joseph Bludau, Jason Bludau, Ryan Bludau, Kevin Dworsky, Kenny Holubec, and Pat Tobola. Honorary Pallbearers: Brad Bergeron, Garrick Lewis, and Mary Ann Janca. Memorials: Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Hospice of South Texas. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
