Leon C. Steffek , 76, of Hallettsville passed away on August 28, 2016. He was born on February 19, 1940 to Charles and Rosie Polasek Steffek in Hallettsville, TX. Leon married Margaret Henke on September 1, 1961. He worked for Texas Highway Department for 35 years and retired in 1996. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #2433 and the Texas National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Eugene Steffek.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Margaret Henke Steffek, two sons Leon Jr. (Buzz) and wife Paula, Harvey and wife Connie, 6 grandsons, Kevin and wife Tiffani, Justin, Kyle, Gregory and fiancé Renee Koncaba, Kurtis and Ross all of Hallettsville. Two Great- grandsons, Trenton and Trevor. Two brothers Jimmie and wife Sylvia Steffek of Hallettsville, Alvin and wife Delores Steffek and sister-in-law Isabel Steffek all of Stafford, Texas

Pallbearers are grandsons, Kevin, Justin, Kyle, Greg, Kurtis, Ross and nephews Mark Steffek and Leonard Pesek, Jr.

Visitation will be at Kubena Funeral home on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 4:00pm with Rosary to follow at 7:00pm. Services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Thursday September 1, 2016 at 10 am with Burial to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
