Lawrence "Butch" Sciba, 64, of Hallettsville, passed away July 3, 2011. He was born on Sept. 1, 1946 to Victor "Pete" & Doris Hoffhines Sciba in Houston. He married Shirley Herman on May 11, 1974 at St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hallettsville. He was a member of the V.F.W. and St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hallettsville.

Butch is survived by: his wife Shirley; his mother Doris Sciba of Hallettsville; 2 sons, Eli Sciba of Houston and Zack Sciba of Hallettsville; cousin Mark Thompson of Alabama; and 2 grandchildren, Draq and Brandan Sciba.

Butch was preceded in death by his father.
