Obituary

Lambert E. Pollok, 80, of Shiner, Texas (Wied Community) passed away on July 4, 2012. He was born on November 3, 1931, in Panna Maria/Hobson, Texas to Clem and Theresa (Lyssy) Pollok, Sr.

He attended Panna Maria School and worked for the Kalina Ranch and Rice Farm in Garwood, Texas before he joined the U.S. Army in 1952. He received basic training at Camp Chaffee, Ark. and served as Chief of the Firing Battery 5th Armored Division in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in Dec. 1954. He was employed by Marine Drilling Company as a crane operator for over 30 years.

He was a lifelong Catholic and member of Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner, Texas. He was also a member of American Legion Post 0230, the NRA and a life member of both the VFW Post 6382 of Hallettsville and the Panna Maria Historical Society.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jane (Ulcak) Pollok. He is also survived by daughters: Jacqueline (Jonathan) Siegel and son Jared Siegel of Spring; Donna (David) Schmidt of Shiner, and children Grant (Staci) Schmidt and Leah Schmidt of Houston, Lexi Schmidt of Shiner; Leslie (Travis) Chilek of Cypress and children, Garrett (Haley) Chilek of Houston, Megan Chilek and Jenny Chilek, of Cypress. Brother: Fabian (Joyce) Pollok of San Antonio. Sisters: Emily (Henry) Gorzell, of Kosciusko, Florence Lyssy, Shirley (Edward) Moczygeymba both of San Antonio, Ruth (Boyd) Kirkland of San Jose, CA, and Terry Little of Floresville. Sisters-in-law: Janet (Don) Smethurst of New Braunfels, Pat Heimann of Universal City, Dolores Pollok and Bernice Patton both of Corpus Christi.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Louie C. Pollok, Harry Pollok and Clem Pollok Jr. and brothers -in-law: Edward Lyssy, Richard Little, and Pat Patton.

Funeral Mass Service: 3 pm, Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner. Visitation: 4 pm, Friday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7 pm, Friday; at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev Kirby Hlavaty. Pallbearers: Garrett Chilek, Grant Schmidt, Jared Siegel, Richard Gorzell, Kevin Pollok, Scott Little, Mark Lyssy and Troy Pollok. Honorary Pallbearers: Leah Schmidt, Megan Chilek, Lexi Schmidt, Jenny Chilek, Karen Thornton, Randy Pollok, Chris Moczygemba and Louie Wayne Pollok. Burial: St. Ludmilla's Catholic Cemetery, Wied, Texas. Memorials: Shiner Catholic Schools or Accolade Hospice.
