Justina S. Kolos, 93, of Hallettsville, died July 1, 2008. She was born on Nov. 16, 1914 to Ludwig & Annie Prasek Roznovsky in Lavaca County, Texas. She married Joseph W. Kolos on Mar. 9, 1933 in Pearsall, Texas. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville.

Justina is survived by: 2 daughters, Bea Reeves of Hallettsville, and Patsy Klimitchek & husband Carl of Hallettsville; 1 half-brother Rudy Roznovsky; 3 half-sisters, Vera Berkenhoff, Pauline Welfl, and Elizabeth Sustr; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Justina was preceded in death by: husband Joseph on Jan. 1, 1994; son Freddie J. Kolos; 2 daughters, Dorothy E. Mertz, and Joyce Gerrity; parents, Ludwig & Annie Prasek Roznovsky; 2 sisters, Annie Doubrava, and Maggie Bollom; 2 half-brothers, Louis and George Roznovsky; 2 grandchildren, Larry Reeves, and Douglas Mertz; and great-grandchild Noah Kalmus.

Service: 10 am, Saturday, July 5, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation: 2 pm, Friday at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosaries: 6 pm, Friday at Kubena Funeral Home; and 9:30 am, Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Pallbearers: Glen Reeves, Donald Reeves, Bruce Mertz, Travis Klimitchek, Ken Klimitchek, and Jamie Klimitchek. Honorary Pallbearers: grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Memorials: American Cancer Society or Donor's Choice.
