Obituary

Julia Ann Satsky, 99, of Hallettsville, died March 1, 2009. She was born on Jan. 10, 1910 to Ludvik & Mary Kahanek Krenek in Hallettsville. She married Louis P. Satsky on Jan. 6, 1931 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville. She was a member of KJZT and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Julia is survived by: son Dennis Satsky Sr. & wife Ora Nell of Hallettsville; 3 daughters, Margaret Berckenhoff of Moulton, Pasty Kalmus & husband Steve of Sugarland, and Barbara Crisp & husband Dudley of Pearland; 2 brothers, Jaro and Frank Krenek of Hallettsville; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Julia was preceded in death by: her husband Louis on Dec. 13, 1995; parents; grandson; son-in-law Otto Berckenhoff; 3 brothers, Louis, Jerome, and Robert Krenek; and 3 sisters, Mary Michna, Hermina Zabransky, and Annie Prasek.

Service: 10 am, Wednesday, Mar. 4, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville. Visitation: 1 pm Tuesday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7 pm, Tuesday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Steve Kalmus Jr., Gary Kalmus, Michael Crisp, Dennis Satsky Jr., Johnnie Michna, and Gregory Berckenhoff. Honorary Pallbearers: grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Officiate: Rev. Michael Rother. Memorials: Sacred Heart Catholic Church or KJZT. Special Thanks to Dr. Barbara Conner, Hospice of South Texas, and Stevens Nursing Center.
