Obituary

Judith P. Koerth, 90, of Hallettsville, passed away Nov. 8, 2012. She was born on Dec. 5, 1921 to John & Christina Jahn Morisak in Hallettsville. She married Elroy Koerth on Nov. 19, 1942 at St. Mary's Church. She was a member of KJZT and a faithful follower of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville.

Judith enjoyed working in and around the community at Grahmann's True Value in Hallettsville. She then went on to work for and retire from TexTan. In her spare time, Judy was quite the homemaker. She loved to cook and can various vegetables, pickles were her specialty. She also enjoyed the challenge of a good jigsaw puzzle and knitting things for around the house like blankets and such. Spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was always very enjoyable for her as well. For the past five years, Judith spent her time at Hallettsville Rehab where she was loved and adored by all. While there, she became the Valentine Queen, she won the Domino tournament with her partner and she also won the Pie Baking Contest with her famous Pecan Pie.

Judith is survived by: son Edmund Koerth of Hallettsville; daughter Beverly Janak & husband Roger of Hallettsville; son-in-law Larry Pugh of St. Charles, Missouri; 3 grandchildren Lyle Pugh & wife Rue, Lance Pugh & wife Rachel, and Ivy Frazier & husband Greg; and 6 great grandchildren, Logan & Liam Pugh, Roland & Eva Pugh, and Aiden & Ava Frazier.

Judith was preceded in death by: her husband Elroy; son Joseph at infancy; daughter Doris Pugh, and parents.

Funeral Mass Service: 3 pm, Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation: 4 pm, Saturday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosaries: 7 pm, Saturday, at Kubena Funeral Home; and 2:30 pm, Sunday, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Officiate: Msgr. John Peters. Pallbearers: Lyle Pugh, Lance Pugh, Greg Frazier, Jimmy Couch, Milton Koerth, and Warren Grindeland. Honorary Pallbearers: Larry Pugh, Milton Mika, Jerry Koerth, Mark Hagens, and Melvin Christian Jr. Burial: St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery, Worthing, Texas. Memorials: Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery, Hospice of South Texas, or donor's choice.
