She was born in Lavaca County on November 19, 1925 to the late Louis Ambrose and Mary Stanzel Rother. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Joyce married Alphonse (Al) W. Wagner on October 7, 1947 in Hallettsville, Texas and recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. She was a loving wife, mother grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed sharing life with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed the holidays, cooking for her family, collecting antiques and cookie jars. She was a devout Christian and devoted much of her early adult life to the family farm.

Joyce is survived by: Husband, Al Wagner; daughters Maureen and husband Anthony Grones of Victoria, Sandra Pargmann of Hallettsville, Gail and husband Willis Jones of Angleton, Texas; sons Al Wagner Jr. and wife Terri of Hallettsville, Michael Wagner and wife Sharon of Victoria, Randy Wagner and wife Pam of Victoria; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters Viola Chovanetz of Hallettsville, Estelle Baros of San Antonio; brothers Daniel Rother of Hallettsville and Weldon Rother of Victoria.

Joyce was preceded in death by: parents; brothers Charles "Buddy" Rother Sr. and Alois Anton Rother; sisters Helen Grafe and Mildred Polk,

Pallbearers: Scott Grones, Eric Grones, Dillon Pargmann, Justin Jones, Trent Wagner, Bryan Wagner, Brock Wagner, Jason Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers: Melissa Grones Champion, Jill Grones Mowles, Delise Pargmann, Kaysie Jones Vance, Ashley Wagner, and Katie Wagner.

Service: 10am Tuesday October 16, 2007 at Sacred Heart Church. Visitation: 3pm Monday October 15, 2007 at the Kubena Funeral Home. Rosaries: 7pm Monday October 15, 2007 at Kubena Funeral Home; 9:30 am Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church. Officiate : Rev.
