Obituary

Joyce Johnson Cash was born September 16, 1923 in Garza County and grew up on a farm near Post, Texas. Joyce had two older brothers, Ed and Bill, and a twin brother, Roy. Joyce and Roy were orphaned at the young age of 13. She graduated from Southland High School where she excelled in sports. She loved and participated in sporting activities her entire life.

In 1940, Joyce married the love of her life, Callan Cash. The marriage of Cal and Joyce began a beautiful and loving relationship that lasted for 66 years. They had four children: Bene Jan Waggoner, Brenda Ann Marek, Callie Jean Bailey, and Allan Roy Cash. They were also blessed with 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and one soon to arrive.

Joyce had a strength and will that could not be matched. She believed that with God's guidance and help one could succeed at anything. She was a loving wife, mother, business owner, and a caring and competent nurse.

She served the community of Levelland, TX. until her retirement in 1978. Joyce's wonderful traits have been passed on to her children and grandchildren, and any success we may experience we owe to her quest to be the very best.

Joyce will always be remembered for her warm smile, focused efforts, determination, and love for the Lord and family.

On June 23, 2007, Joyce peacefully and joyfully joined her husband Callan and the Lord in Heaven. We are grateful to the Lord for our remarkable mother, Joyce Cash.
