Joveeda Mack Thornton, age 94, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at her home in Hallettsville.  She was born on September 22, 1930, in Brownfield, Texas, to Claude and Lucille Mack.

Joveeda is survived by:  her husband Vernon Thornton; son Mike (Lois) Nelson; three grandsons, Tyler (Ashley) Nelson, Luke (Lizbeth) Nelson and Andrew Nelson; two brothers, Darvin (JoAnn) Mack and Win (Gloria) Mack; great grandchildren, Cammie Nelson, Tanner Nelson. Jaden Nelson and Isabella Nelson; and stepdaughters, Lynn Effinger and Lynda Hendricks.

Joveeda was proceeded in death by; her parents Claude & Lucille Mack, her son Stephen Nelson and her brother Claude Mack.

A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date.
