Obituary

Josephine Nell Jansky Fertsch, 96, of Hallettsville, passed away July 9, 2016. She was born on January 6, 1920 to Joseph & Ellie Reagan Jansky in Yorktown, TX. She was a long time faithful member of St. Peter Lutheran Church; and volunteered with The Ladies Quilting Circle Group and L.A.M.B. Thrift Store.

Josephine was a longtime resident of Hallettsville, where she retired from the Hallettsville Independent School District. Before her retirement, she was also employed part-time by the Smoke House Restaurant and Coles Theater.

Josephine is survived by; daughter Sharon Mascheck & husband Ronnie of Rosenberg, son James Fertsch & wife Elva of Winchester, sister Leona Guenther of Hallettsville, sister-in-law Georgene Schwartz of Houston, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Josephine was preceded in death by: her parents; daughter Elaine Kauffman; 2 sisters, Ellie Marie Fritsch and Ruth Tarrillion; brother Joe Baily Jansky; grandson Zachary Grafe; 4 brothers-in-law, Hilmer Fritsch, Robert Guenther, Paul Tarrillion and Steve Schwartz.

Funeral Service: 10 am, Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hallettsville. V isitation: 5 pm, Tuesday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Nathan Grafe, Aaron Kurtz, Jessie Jamison, Ryan Kurtz, Eric Beane, Jason Herring, and Christian Beane. Officiant: Rev. Herb Beyer. Memorials (in lieu of Flowers): The Leukemia Lymphoma Society, The American Cancer Society, Hospice of South Texas, or Donor's Choice. Burial: Hallettsville City Cemetery.
