Joseph "Joe" Schneider, 90, of Hallettsville, passed away November 13, 2025.  He was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, and attended schools there.  He was employed by Friedrich Refrigeration in San Antonio for most of his adult life until his retirement.

On February 16, 1974, Joe married Dorothy Matula at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Hallettsville. They lived in San Antonio until the end of 1996 when they moved to the St. Mary's area and built a home in the country.

Joe and Dorothy, over the years took many day trips on the weekend and after retirement, at least once a week, they went somewhere visiting areas in Texas.

Funeral Mass Service: 1 pm, Monday, November 17, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Hallettsville; with Visitation starting at 11 am and Rosary at 12:30 pm. Pallbearers: Travis Matula, Garrett Grahmann, Dennis Herring, Mark Brown, Robert Tobola and Gilbert Urbish. Memorials: St. Mary's Catholic Church Building Fund or Donor's choice. Burial: St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
