Obituary

Mrs. Johnnye Jacobs Hobbs, 98, of Hallettsville, died Saturday, June 2, 2007. She was born August 27, 1908 in Ezzell, Texas, to the late Wingfield & Theresa Gold Jacobs. She married Joe L. Hobbs on December 28, 1929 in Ezzell, Texas. She was a homemaker and belonged to the Hallettsville First United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star.

Johnnye is survived by: her son Billy Joe Hobbs & wife Bobbie of Hallettsville; two grandchildren, Roddy Hobbs & wife Sherri of Missouri City, Texas, and Brenda Miller & husband Michael of Houston, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Bryan and Jacob Hobbs of Missouri City, and Alexandria and Jordan Miller of Houston, Texas; and nieces and nephews.

Johnnye was preceded in death by; husband Joe L. Hobbs, grandchild Bruce Hobbs, parents, and sister Phoebe Honish and Woodie Teltschick.

Graveside Service: 10 am, Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at Salem Cemetery. Visitation: Noon, Monday at Kubena Funeral Home; with the family receiving visitors between 6pm to 8pm that Monday. Burial: Salem Cemetery. Officiate: Rev. Lundy Hooten. Memorials: First United Methodist Church of Hallettsville.
