Johnny Emil Svetlik, 64, of Hallettsville, TX, passed away on December 7, 2018. He was born December 31, 1953 to Victor A. and Dorothy Bujnoch Svetlik in Hallettsville. He married the love of his life, Marilyn Grahmann Svetlik, on September 28, 1985, and together they were blessed with two sons, Chase and Ethan Svetlik. Johnny was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2433 and KJT. He was also a parishioner at both St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Koerth and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville

Johnny was a graduate of Hallettsville High School in 1972. Following high school he served in the Army National Guard from 1972 to 1978 where he rose to the rank of Sergeant. After that he worked at Morrow Hardware before he started work for Circle Y in Yoakum, TX. There he was a dedicated and loyal employee for 45 years.

Johnny can be truly described as a devoted husband and loving father as he loved to spend time with his family. He really enjoyed family gatherings where he got to spend time with his siblings, nieces, and nephews whether that be over a game of cards or dominoes together, listening to polka music, going on a hayride to sing Christmas carols, or just sitting around together to catch up with everyone. You could also tell that Johnny had many friends based on the numerous weddings he was in. Johnny was a kind hearted soul that always had a smile on his face and would tell everyone he met "Hello" even if they were a stranger.

Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Marilyn Grahmann Svetlik, and his two sons, Chase and Ethan Svetlik. He is also survived by: his sister Dorothy Etzler & husband Joseph of Hallettsville; sister Doris Leopold & husband Paul of Rockdale; brother Victor Svetlik & wife Victoria of Rockdale; and sister Annie Svetlik of Hallettsville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Johnny is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Mass Service : 10:30 am, Friday December 14, 2018, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Koerth. Visitation starting at 5 pm, Thursday, at Kubena Funeral Home, with the Rosary starting at 7 pm. Pallbearers (his nephews): Paul Leopold, Joey Etzler, Kevin Etzler, Douglas Grahmann, Bradley Grahmann, Stephen Grahmann, and Garrett Grahmann. Honorary Pallbearers (his godchildren): Rebecca King, Tracy Manning, Rose Hatcher, Blake King, and Eve King. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters and Rev. Dominic Aniwi-Boasiako. Memorials: St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, or donor's choice. Burial: St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Korerth, TX.
