John A. Pavliska Jr., 87, of Hallettsville, passed away Aug. 15, 2011. He was born on Nov. 24, 1923 to John A. & Martha Frazer Pavliska Sr. in Lavaca County, near Provident City. He married Evelyn Chovanetz on Feb. 23, 1949 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

John is survived by: his wife Evelyn; 3 children, John Pavliska III & wife Susan of Houston, Milissa Zamora & husband Michael of Inez, and Tim Pavliska of Houston; brother Victor Pavliska of Koerth; sister Helen Bender of El Campo; sister-in-law Mary Ann Pavliska; and 5 grandchildren, Stephanie, Ann and Mary Pavliska; and Lauren & Neil Zamora.

John was preceded in death by: his parents; 2 daughters, Melanie and Stephanie Pavliska; brother Harvey Pavliska Sr.; and infant sister.

Funeral Mass Service: 10 am, Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 3 pm, Tuesday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7 pm, Tuesday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Pallbearers: Mike Pavliska, Francis Pavliska, Gary Pavliska, Harvey Pavliska, Neil Zamora, Marvin Holik, Wayne Migura, and Warren Migura. Memorials: Donor's Choice. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
