Mr. John Leslie Kaiser, 63, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007. He was at his home at St. Mary's after a long battle with cancer. He was born Aug, 26, 1944 in Yoakum, to the late Charles B. and Myrtle Rice Kaiser. He was employed by Jansky Sand & Gravel of Hallettsville until his health failed. John was married to Mary A. Kanak.

John Leslie is survived by his wife Mary; son Daniel Kaiser of Shiner; daughter Deborah Shaw of Oklahoma; sisters, Colleen Heidaker & husband Leon of Yoakum, Alice Bennett of Yoakum, and Charlene Hensley & husband Dan of San Antonio; and three grandchildren, Jason and Kyle Jalufka, and Jillian Faith Kaiser.

Special Thanks go out to the doctors and staff of MD Anderson, Dr. H. Sabbagh and his staff in Victoria, and the staff of Hospice of South Texas who gave such loving care in his final days.

Service: 10 am, Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Visitation: 2 pm, Friday at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7 pm, Friday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Pallbearers: Daniel Jalufka Jr., Jason J. Jalufka, Kyle Jalufka, Michael J. Jansky, Mike Bozka, and Larry Appelt. Memorials: Hospice of South Texas. Burial: St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
