Johanna "Jane" Ulcak Pollok, 79, of Shiner, Texas (Wied Community) passed away on June 13, 2014. She was born on November 2, 1934, in Wied to Julius & Angeline (Gerlich) Ulcak.
She attended Wied School and graduated high school from St. Ludmila Academy, Shiner, in 1952. She was employed by Gulf Coast Council Boy Scouts of America, Corpus Christi, Texas, for 22 years and 4 months as Registrar and Office Manager. She moved to Shiner, Texas, in 1975 and worked for Dr. Harvey Renger in Hallettsville for 3 years. She then worked for the Wagner Medical Clinic for 13 years as the receptionist, retiring October 30, 1996.
She was a lifelong Catholic and member of Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner, Texas. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 0230 and VFW Auxiliary Post 6382 of Hallettsville, Texas. She was a member of the Sts. Cyril & Methodius Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of America, and the Yoakum Community Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by one sister: Bernice Patton of Corpus Christi, Texas. She is also survived by daughters: Jacqueline (Jonathan) Siegel and son Jared Siegel of Spring; Donna (David) Schmidt of Shiner and children Grant (Staci) Schmidt and Leah Schmidt of Houston and Lexi Schmidt of Orlando, Florida; Leslie (Travis) Chilek of Cypress and children Garrett (Haley) Chilek of Houston and Megan Chilek and Jenny Chilek of Cypress.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Lambert E. Pollok, and her parents, Julius, and Angeline Ulcak.
Funeral Mass Service:
10 am, Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner.
Visitation:
4 pm, Tuesday, at Kubena Funeral Home.
Rosary:
7 pm, Tuesday, at Kubena Funeral Home.
