Obituary

Joe Mozisek, 82, of Houston, TX, passed away peacefully on October 31 st , at his home, with his wife by his side.  He was born on February 19, 1939, in Shiner TX, to Rudolph and Caraline Mozisek.  He graduated from Shiner High School and moved to Houston, TX, where he met Florine Marie Tousek.  They married on April 15, 1961, in Moulton, TX.

Joe served in the United States Air Force in the 474th Field Maintenance Squadron at Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, New Mexico.  He also furthered his education by attending San Jacinto Jr. College and graduated as a transmission specialist.  He worked as a machinist his entire career.  He spent most of his life in Texas where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating with his friends and his family.

Joe was also a member of the PoLK of A in Texas where he had made many friends and enjoyed dancing and celebrating his Czech Heritage and music.  He also loved to travel in Europe and reconnect with his heritage.  He was a hardworking, loving and committed father and husband.  A wonderful grandfather to his two grandsons with whom he spent time with playing games and teaching them so many things.

Joe is survived by; his wife Florine, daughter Melissa Coleman of Oklahoma City, OK, son-in-law Kent Coleman, grandsons Preston Coleman and Pierce Coleman, brother Ben Mozisek, sister-in-law Beverly of Shiner, TX, Sister-in-Law Barbara Mozisek of Virginia, and numerous nieces, nephews & friends.

Joe is preceded in death by: his parents Rudolph and Caraline Mozisek; 3 brothers, James Mozisek of Virginia, Rudy Mozisek of Pasadena, TX and Patrick Mozisek of Las Vegas, NV.

Funeral Mass Service: 10 am, Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Ascension of our Lord Catholic Church of Moravia, TX; with Visitation starting at 9 am; and Rosary starting at 9:30 am. Pallbearers: Kent Coleman, Preston Coleman, Pierce Coleman, Ben Mozisek, Jimmy Kouba, Brian Kouba and Keith Kouba. Honorary Pallbearers: Bernard Greener, Henry Mlcak and Paul Flessner. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters. Memorials: Alzheimer's Association or donor's choice. Burial: Ascension of our Lord Catholic Cemetery.
