Jo Frances Hardilek, 83, life-long resident of Houston, passed away on Feb. 11, 2020. She was born on Aug. 15, 1936, to Joe & Lottie Gaertner, in Houston. She married Charles Lewis Hardilek on Sept. 13, 1980, in Houston.

Jo attended St. Christopher Elementary School, and graduated from Incarnate Word Academy were she was a member of the school choir. She was retired from Texaco, were she worked her entire life. On Sept. 13, 1980, she married Charles Lewis Hardilek in Houston, where they were faithful members of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish. The very mention of babies, birds, puppies or kittens, always brought an immediate smile.

Jo is survived by: 3 step sons, Charles Hardilek & wife Dale, Tom Hardilek & wife Sandi, and Robert Hardilek & wife Cathy; 2 step daughters, Sharon Wilkens & husband Paul, and Dolores Elliott & husband Steve; 10 step grandchildren; 13 step great grandchildren; who brought great joy in her later years; and an extended family of relations and friends.

Jo was preceded in death by; her husband Charles, parents, and step grandson Gabriel.

Funeral Mass Service : 1:30 pm, Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville; with Visitation starting at 12 Noon, Saturday; and the Rosary starting at 1:00 pm. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters. Memorials: Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church or Charity of Your Choice. Entombment: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
