Jessie Roy "Ace" Kahanek, 83, of Hallettsville, passed away June 10, 2017. He was born on February 5, 1934 to Jim L. & Willie Mae Kalcak Kahanek. He married Elrose Fojt on April 29, 1956.

Jessie joined the US Army on April 30, 1954. He trained with the 11 ^th Airborne Division, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Parachute Badge, and the Good Conduct Medal; and was honorable discharged on December 28, 1955.

Jessie worked for Johnson Tester (Schlumberger), WKM as a machinist, carpenter in home construction, and last in the Maintenance Department with Stevens Nursing Center in Hallettsville.

Jessie thoroughly enjoyed the Deer Camp during deer season, and extremely proud of his kids and grandkids activities.

Jessie is survived by: his wife of 61 years, Elrose; 4 children, Gary Wayne Kahanek & wife Jessica, Ronald Roy Kahanek & wife Marie, Jimmie "James" Leon Kahanek & wife Sarah, and Brenda Lynn Kahanek-Childers & husband Grady; 7 grandchildren, Kerri Kahanek-Matthews & Mallory Matthews, Jason Johns & wife Kaley, Katie Kahanek-Stavinoha & husband Coby, Jacob Kahanek & Cassie Berger, Cole Kahanek & wife Whitney, Kacie Kahanek-Cotton & husband D.J. and Justin Kahanek; 4 great grandchildren, Kase Johns, Karley Johns, Kade Kahanek-Matthews, and the 4 ^th to be born in December 2017; and 2 sisters, Dolores Leopold of Hallettsville and Marie Michalec of Houston.

Jessie was preceded in death by: parents; and 2 brothers, one at infancy and Jimmie Kahanek.

Memorial Luncheon: 11 am to 2 pm, Saturday, June 24, 2017, at the American Legion Post 230 building of Hallettsville.
